Julie/Julia and Me!

Last night Dave and I watched "Julie/Julia". I'd seen it before but Dave hadn't. I ordered Julia Child's Cookbook "Mastering the Art of French Cooking" after I first saw it. So maybe I'm living vicariously, but tonight I had my first attempt at French Cooking!! I made Supremes de Volaille Archiduc (Chicken Breasts with Paprika, Onions, and Cream). Oh My Gosh, it was...words fail me! It SO delicious! Now I know why Julia Child fell in love with French Cuisine! So delicious and tangy. The chicken just melted in our mouths! It wasn't really that hard to make either. I de-boned the chicken breasts quite easily. I was surprised! I told David I knew why Julia's husband was so in love with her! I'D fall in love with anyone that cooked like that for me every night! Dave is taking the leftovers tomorrow for lunch. I'm jealous! I'm going to have to get better at my french pronunciation! Next I'm making Pate'. Bought the ingredients today except for the brandy. Can't buy that on Sunday. Haven't had Pate since I went to France in 1981! I'm going to try several things in this book. But I'll skip the chapter on "Sweetbreads and Brains". Blech! No "Calf Fries" or "Rocky Mountain Oysters". More tomorrow!
